- Can you tell where you got the inspiration for this book?Answer: I completely agree with the philosophy you should write the book you always wanted to read, and for me that is what drove me to write The Genesis of Seven. When I was younger, it seemed no matter where I looked, be it books or even movies, angels were always portrayed in a way that just did not agree with me. Either their stories were based on romances with humans, or they were pitted against each other with evil intentions. Because of this, I wanted to give the angels a new narrative, one that portrayed them as a group, focused on their origin story, and described the circumstances that led to the ultimate battle of good vs. evil.- Is the story or any part of it inspired from your or a friend's life?Answer: No, the story is pure fantasy.-Which character from your book do you relate yourself to most?Answer: The character I relate most to is Jordan because it’s easier for me to put myself in his shoes. Many of his decisions and reactions are probably the way I would handle the situation if I was randomly thrown into a world full of angels. I also can relate with him in other ways like how he’s not very athletic, or how he doesn’t have many friends because he prefers to be by himself even though he is very naturally friendly. I think the biggest factor that is a direct link between him and I is the fact that he is at a transition period in his life and is utterly confused about what he wants to do. I knew that I wanted to go to college, much like Jordan, and I had an inkling of the subjects I was interested in, but if you asked me what career or occupation I wanted, it was hard for me to answer. I always get anxious with periods of change because facing the unknown is scary, and I think Jordan does feel some of this, but the angels act as a perfect distraction to take his mind off the future decisions he has to make. Yet, I also know that the journey he is on is the best scenario for him because it will shape him and his future decisions more than he knows, which is something I experienced and benefitted from.- When was the first time you realised you wanted to be an author? Is this the first book you started working on or are there previous unfinished or unpublished stories too?Answer: Even though I had a wild imagination as a kid and I always came up with story ideas, I never knew I wanted to be an author until I was twenty-one. The idea for The Genesis of Seven came to me while I was in middle school, but I didn’t pursue writing it until twenty-one, mainly because I didn’t have much confidence in my writing. I struggled with reading as a kid, so writing a book seemed impossible to me, but once I started, I couldn’t stop. The book just came pouring out, and I realized how much I loved writing. There are no unfinished or unpublished stories—The Genesis of Seven is the first story I wrote and published. I have plenty of other ideas in my head, but I haven’t tried putting them to paper yet.-What was the most difficult thing you faced writing this book?Answer: The most difficult thing I dealt with when writing The Genesis of Seven was the multiple points of view. I always knew this was how I wanted to write the book, but it was a lot easier to plan it than execute it. What was so difficult was trying to make each voice standout and be different from the others, while at the same time creating a cohesive narrative. Some characters were easier to write than others because they felt more natural. For instance, Jordan’s chapters were by far the easiest while Satan’s were the hardest.-When did you start writing The Genesis of Seven? How long did the whole process take?Answer: I started writing The Genesis of Seven during the summer of 2017 and I finished it that fall, so it only took me about three months to write it.-Do you like reading and writing different genres? for example do you like reading rom com and writing fantasy or same?Answer: Yes, I like reading and writing different genres. I try to read widely and experiment in the genres I read. However, when it comes to writing, I purely like writing fantasy, so I don’t think I would write in another genre.-What's your favorite scene from the book?(without spoilers;))Answer: The heaven flashbacks in the beginning of the book are my favorite scenes. They are the ones I first wrote, and at the time, it was one entire scene, but I have since had to break them into multiple scenes because they are quite long. But they feature an epic battle, and I really like writing battle scenes.-Lastly Is there any book you're working on right now? Can you tell a little about it?Answer: Right now, I’m working on the sequel to The Genesis of Seven. So far, I can say that it will be released this year, and it will be written from multiple points of view, much like the first book. However, there will be two new voices introduced.
****Can't wait for the sequel;)****
